Dr. Blain, Dr. Narvaez Linares, and Dr. Lambert provide bilingual assessment (neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluation) at $250/h for up to $4,500. Dr. Blain and Dr. Narvaez Linares also offer bilingual psychotherapy at $225/h but are not currently taking new clients.

Dr. Blain accepts children (aged 6 and up), adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Narvaez Linares sees children and youth aged 3 to 19 and can also provide psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic evaluation in Spanish. The cost of this specific assessment will depend on the severity of the client’s presentation and will be discussed with him.
Dr. Lambert offers assessment only to children and youth aged 5 to 19 years old.

When completing an assessment, Dr. Blain, Dr. Narvaez Linares, and Dr. Lambert are able to diagnose a wide variety of developmental disorders including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia and Dyscalculia), Specific Language impairment, Giftedness, Intellectual Disability, Tourette syndrome, Developmental Coordination Disorder, and Nonverbal Learning Disorders.

During psychotherapy, Dr. Blain uses a variety of evidence-based treatments tailored to the client’s objectives such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to help him cope with anxiety and improve his mood. She also provides parental sessions to coach them on how to manage their child's behaviours and emotions.

Dr. Navaez Linares provides Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). With youth, he also offers support with stress management and interpersonal challenges, to those who are gifted/twice-exceptional (e.g., social skills, anxiety performance), ADHD and/or executive functioning management, and youth being part of the LGBTQIA2+ community.

Dr. Bénédicte Blain’s main areas of practice include individual therapy for anxiety and depression, parental coaching, behaviour management, and assessments. She welcomes children, adolescents and adults who speak either English or French. Dr. Blain’s approach to therapy is collaborative and she uses a variety of evidence-based treatments tailored to the client’s objectives such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

As for assessment, Dr. Blain specializes in neurodevelopmental disorders, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities (dyslexia and dyscalculia), specific language impairment, Tourette syndrome, developmental coordination disorder, and nonverbal learning disorders. She helps clients better understand their strengths and weaknesses and offer suggestions to facilitate their academic learning. Depending on the needs of the person, she may recommend classroom accommodations such as additional time for tests or a laptop with correction software. She is also able to identify emotional (anxiety and depression) and behavioral disorders and suggest strategies to address them.

Her doctoral dissertation focuses on communication skills (pragmatics) and regulation of new and complex behaviors (executive functions) of children aged 4 years old and the relationship between the two. Her research led to publications, including a book chapter on child language development in childcare settings and a scientific article on the role of executive functions in the development of communication.

Dr. Blain holds a doctorate in both research (Ph.D.) and clinical neuropsychology from Université du Québec à Montréal and is currently registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Dr. Alina Carter is a registered psychologist who provides psychological services to children, teens, adults and families in English. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a child clinical subspecialty from the University of Windsor and is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Dr. Carter provides therapy to individuals across most of the lifespan, although she specializes with children and youth. Her practice focuses on those who struggle with anxiety, depression, adjusting to life events or stressors, sleep difficulties, and health-related concerns (e.g., chronic pain).

​Dr. Carter also provides psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments for children and young adults.

Dr. Carter’s theoretical orientation is integrative, in that she considers the impact of various factors (such as biological, psychological, social, and systemic) when understanding her clients and their struggles. Dr. Carter focuses on interventions that are evidence-based (e.g., cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy) and relevant for the individual and developmental level. Her approach is supportive, collaborative, and respectful, and she seeks feedback and active involvement from clients.

Dr. Lambert is a pediatric neuropsychologist who offers neuropsychological/ psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents with various neuro-developmental disorders (e.g., attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disabiliy, intellectual disability). Dr. Lambert holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology (clinical and research) from the University of Ottawa and completed extensive training in clinical neuropsychology. She is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) as well as l’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ), with competencies in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology with children, youth, and families. Dr. Lambert has mostly worked in hospital settings in the Ottawa region and she completed her neuropsychology residency in a pediatric hospital in the Toronto region. Dr. Lambert offers assessments both in French and in English to children and adolescents (aged 5 to 19 years old).

Biography

Dr. Narvaez Linares completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa. He pursued post-doctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), in School Psychology at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), and in Clinical Psychology in private practice.

Dr. Narvaez Linares is registered in these areas, except for neuropsychology, with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and l’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. Dr. Narvaez Linares will be obtaining his competency in neuropsychology in 2023. He is known for his warm, approachable and authentic style.

He has published in scientific journals, presented at multiple conferences, and taught university courses. He continues volunteering with organizations that promote youth leadership and citizenship, and advocating for human rights. In addition, he is part of different committees at the local and national levels promoting training in psychology.
